Remember this guy - He needs a home for Denver!!

Looks like I may be long on Fort Worth steers at the Patton Barn, This one is the most likely Denver candidate of our string. He is weighing 1015 and have had him on hold out of the cooler for 90 days. He's ready to turn loose on feed and get that KRAZY SHAG back. If anyone wants to play hard at Denver he would be fun! 

HE IS A LATE APRIL BORN HOLLYWOOD, NEVER BEEN SHOWN SINCE WE HAVE OWNED HIM BUT HAS BEEN ON A HALTER UNDER FANS EVERY SINGLE DAY THIS SPRING AND SUMMER. 

Congrats to Jayton Cogburn - ACC 1st year customer

Jayton brought his steer over friday for a hoof trimming and we gave him a little hair cut, we were so excited we decided to take him to his first show in Denison on sunday. We had a typicall first show, nervous calf and showman in ring A. but by the time we got to ring D everyone settled in and did their job but "FRIDAY" was washed out and tired. We were very excited with Reserve Grand honors and happy that Judge Mafey looked past the fatigue of our calf. At the back drop he told me there is something special about this calf, I said I wish you could have seen him friday at the barn! If any knows Mafey ask him to look at the barn pic here on the blog. Jayton got a little taste of blood and is working hard and has high expectations for the West Texas fair.

Annie Herring - Palo Pinto Co.

Annie Herring's dad, Scott called and said the dove were flying. So Annie and I had an afterschool hair working and showmanship clinic and she is hard at work getting her Fort Worth ABC ready for the big show. He was a favorite in our Fort Worth sale this past year. Good luck to Annie!

I know she will enjoy more success than her dad and I did on the bird hunt.

This is my new buddy from Louisiana!

8 yr old Sara Arbuckle just bought her first show calf today as well she has been my first customer of the fall on our yearling group, she picked him out, washed and blew him clean and her big brother Dustin who's been wanting to learn to clip got a clipping less as we sheared out Sarah's showcalf. They left ready to go to the show and only had to leave $2500 on the desk. If you still need a steer for spring you need to come to Weatherford or I will send pics and as of today I have learned to video and send out from my cell. I hope you can tell by the looks of ol blue here. WE AINT PEDDLIN NO JUNK!

Approximately 80 - 5-7 year old Express & Glover bred Females, AI'd to Bullicious, Walk's Alone, Red Rock, Chopper, Grizzly, Copyright and Steel Force. These are FOB Fredonia, KS. $2,300/truck load - $2.500/less than a load.

Approximately 180 - 4 year old 5/8 Angus 3/8 Brahman bred females, black and black baldies. Due dates are Mid-September to Early - November. Coming with second calf, bred to Yellow Jacket, Heat Wave and Kadabra sons and other Maine Clubby sires. These are FOB Bracketville, TX. $2,000/truck load - $2.200 less than a load.

July 30 Feature win!

JULY 30  281 Speedway

 

On Landries B-day sat nite her daddy won his first A feature of the year. And as usual I scored plenty of style points after I took the checkers I drifted too high in turns 1 and 2 and slammed the rearend in the wall. The crowd went wild, so after the pictures were taken I finished tearing the rear spoiler off and gave it to a kid in the stands.

 

July 29 Cowtown speedway

Started 6 th in the heat and was passing for 2nd when I got crossed up with  the car above, spun and cut rear tire.

Starting the 20 lap feature in the rear of a 26 car field. I passed several cars on each of the restarts after cautions and with 6 laps to go have moved from 26th to 7th as I got greedy running the highline a little too hard and fell over the top of turns 3 and 4. Missed opportunity for a top 5 and the hard charger award! Finished 15th.

 

Lake Country Speedway - Ardmore OK - Sat July 23

 

Started 7 th in heat finished 3rd, lined up in the 18th starting hole for the 20 lap feature. Moved forward quick and ran with the lead pack of cars, we lapped the field 5 or 6 times. Finished 4 th, good night no big mistakes.

 

Boyd Speedway Fri July 22

Started last in heat race finished 3rd

started 20 lap feature in 16th and ended up with a 7th place finish, 4 of the 6 drivers ahead of me were in the top 5 National points and all started ahead of me, good night of racing moved forward thru the field all night.

 

Lawton Speedway Sat July 2

Started last in heat race and moved up to 2nd but was black flagged for rough driving. This means I had to start at the rear of the 10 lap B feature to qualify for the A, they took top 4 out of the 12 car field. I started 12th and finished 2nd to give me an 18th spot starting position for the A feature. With 5 laps to go I had moved up into the top 5 when a lap car in front of me spun as we were going thru turns 1 and 2, I couldnt miss him! Knocked right front 14th place finish, another top 5 lost with bad luck in the closing laps.
