LET ME TELL YOU A LITTLE STORY........ This herf is a June born bull calf that I bought in december. The pic in the barn unclipped was taken just before Denver, he was as square rumped, big haired, jack necked, chubby killer looking herf as they ever made. After Denver he got castrarted and it set him back, his sack drained for so long the hair is gone from the inside of his legs, before he ever got halfway recovered from that I had him dehorned.... and yup, you guessed it one side swelled up and got infected and he temped up spit his hair and lost some more weight/rib shape!! Just in the past 5 days he has started to come back and is now healthy. And oh.. I failed to mention somewhere along the way he picked up some lice and rubbed all the hair off his back. Heres the good news... he's still the same genetic freak he was when I bought him and we dont have any prospect shows until the end of April. So while the fall borns are shucking out later in the spring we will be fuzzed back up fresh as a daisy. This one has been through alot last 30 days and I will keep him thru march 15 and guarantee health up to the day of delivery. I will also start rinsing daily and keep him in the cooler until TSU at a reasonable fee. We all know how good the hereford steers are these days and how good they will sell in the spring auctions. Get ahead of the curve and tie into one that can beat most of the crossbreds in due time!

Breeders World online sale rescheduled for Tues Feb 18... My apologies for the average pics and videos, weather just hasnt cooperated and the cattle are rough clipped! I am going to get everything re clipped and pictured this coming weekend, pray for a little sunshine. I will be at the Kansas ranch all week putting in embryos so dont bother with e-mail. Call me and we can talk about the stock!! This is the best set we have ever offered in an online sale and there are plenty more fall borns waiting in the wings, I am rested and ready for this upcoming season call and tell me what your family needs in the showbarn this year!

I want to express the sincerest apprerciation to Clint Mc Cauley for coming to my aid when I realized this steer didnt have signature Tony Austin clipper lice on him anywhere and it was time for to set the shears down, great job getting him tight and right! Thanks to Colby Collins and his crew with all of their help on show day and thank you to Mitch Armitage breeder of the steer who was there by our side from 7 am til we walked into the ring. on behalf of the Patton family and myself,I appreciate everyones contribution. I dont care what anyone says if you wanna run withe big dawgs at Denver or Ft Worth you better be feeding an April - June born calf. And thats what we have loaded both barrels with for next years show, Breedersworld Denver/Ft Worth offering will sell next Tues Feb 18 with a couple very special heifers and fall born steers.

This makes the 3rd time I have clipped and posted this steer. And confirms there is no reason for me to have State Fair steers for sale in TX. I know good and well this one is better than 90% of the cattle on feed. All I can say is if its not too late for you to tag in you should buy this calf and if you dont I hope your neighbor buys him and spanks your tail! This individual comes with full service so I can stand there in the picture with you with that "I told u so" look on my face. Video will be up later today at austincattleblog.
